I successfully make it through surgery. I have a few other cuts, scratches etc and no rear leg, but my stitches are good. My next challenge is my other hind leg, my tendon is damaged where my hoof connects and we are not sure if it will heal. With my healing I can not return outside to my Mama, Doctor says infection is to great a risk. My human moms don't skip a beat and in the house I go. They will have to monitor me, feed me, and change my dressing every few hours for however long weeks, months, it takes my tendon to heal.
Going home I don't want to eat. Im taken outside to try and nurse off Mama. It doesn't work out. I don't like the bottle though either, but I must drink my milk to keep my bones strong and be a healthy happy goat.
Mama doesn't like that I'm being moved inside. She paces and cries for me. I get to see her but it started to get to where it was harder and harder every time I was with her for her to handle me being taken away. For my moms sake my human moms found 2 young goats that were no longer nursing but needed a mama. Their names are Coal and Tegan and still live with her. We call them my adopted brothers.
